(English) An excellent pre-war damask sabre by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. Issued in 1937 to Hauptmann Erich Scheyer as a shooting award. Hauptmann Scheyer served at this time with Infanterie-Regiment 14. A very nice and rare damask blade, etched to three sides. So-called “Steckrückenklinge mit Schör” blade. It comes with finely gilded ornaments. Inscription “Ehrenpreis für hervorragende Schießleisstungen 1937 – Hptm. Erich Scheyer, I.R.14”. “Eickhorn Solingen” maker marked. Blade-back also “CARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN” maker marked. Gilded brass hilt fittings. Black celluloid grip with intact wire wrapping. No chipping. Original black factory painted scabbard without dents.
