(English) An excellent pre-war damask sabre by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. Issued in 1937 to Hauptmann Erich Scheyer as a shooting award. Hauptmann Scheyer served at this time with Infanterie-Regiment 14. A very nice and rare damask blade, etched to three sides. So-called «Steckrückenklinge mit Schör» blade. It comes with finely gilded ornaments. Inscription «Ehrenpreis für hervorragende Schießleisstungen 1937 — Hptm. Erich Scheyer, I.R.14». «Eickhorn Solingen» maker marked. Blade-back also «CARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN» maker marked. Gilded brass hilt fittings. Black celluloid grip with intact wire wrapping. No chipping. Original black factory painted scabbard without dents.
