Russian Silver-Gilt Spoon with Inscription “Кого Люблю Таго Дарю”.

A small Russian silver-gilt spoon with a twisted handle and richly decorated bowl. The spoon is ornamented with engraved and chased floral motifs, textured ground and decorative borders.

The bowl bears a Cyrillic inscription reading “Кого Люблю Таго Дарю”, an old-style phrase meaning “To whom I love, to that person I give”. Such inscriptions were commonly used on Russian gift spoons and small silver objects intended as personal presents.

The handle is partly twisted and fitted with decorative terminals. The surface retains gilding with age-related wear, patina, oxidation and rubbing.
