Description

An elegant amber-stained and gilt enamel glass goblet, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The goblet has a faceted form with a warm amber tint, a wide gilt band around the upper body, and hand-painted floral garlands in soft polychrome enamel. The combination of amber-coloured glass, gilding and enamel decoration gives the piece a refined decorative character typical of Central European art glass of the period.

Glass of this type was often produced in Central Europe, including Bohemian and Austro-Hungarian workshops, where coloured glass, gilding and enamel painting were used to create richly decorated table and display pieces.
