Description

An elegant antique serving slice, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, combining a finely decorated silver handle with a gilt metal blade.

The elongated silver handle is beautifully ornamented with raised floral garlands, delicate foliage and parallel fluted lines. Its rounded terminal features an intricate arrangement of leaves and flowers, while the lower section is finished with a decorative floral motif.

The gilt serving blade has a broad, slightly asymmetrical shape, richly decorated with pierced scrolling foliage and engraved botanical motifs. The openwork decoration gives the piece an attractive, refined appearance.

The transition between the silver handle and the blade is formed by an elegant gilt metal stem with elongated fluting and stylised floral details.

The serving slice is preserved in its fitted original presentation case, covered in dark textured material and lined with cream-coloured fabric.

A charming example of antique table silver and decorative serving utensils, suitable for collectors of historic silverware and elegant dining accessories.
